Enfield, CT- Jon Scott Ditmar, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at his home in Enfield. Born in Hackensack, NJ, on June 15, 1959, a loving son of Arthur and Mary Jane (Creel) Ditmar, he was a longtime resident of Longmeadow, before residing the past 17 years in Enfield, CT.
Jon was a graduate of Longmeadow High School and was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow. Through many years of hard work and training, Jon became a Master Contractor. He owned and operated Ditmar Remodeling for over 35 years, working in the greater Springfield area.
Jon was an avid Patriots fan and a devout fan of the New York Yankees, because his father, Art, was a former pitcher for the Yankees. Jon enjoyed his personal time fishing and going to Misquamicut Beach.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Mary Jane Ditmar Roy and is survived by his father, Arthur and his wife, Dianne, of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sons, Nicholas and Jake Ditmar both of Longmeadow; siblings, Debra Murphy and her husband, Ned, of Westfield, Terry Ditmar, and Todd Ditmar and his wife, Denise, all of Longmeadow; his longtime companion, Bonnie Thibeault, of Enfield, and former wife, Lisa (Ullery) Ditmar of Longmeadow; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. for Jon’s Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will be private and at a later date. There are no calling hours. For online condolences please visit www.hafeyfuneralservice.com
