Todd Stewart Johnson

Todd Stewart Johnson, 53, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. Born on August 16, 1963 in Northampton, MA, a beloved son of Arlene M. (Fournier) Mayer and Stewart Johnson, he was raised and educated in Springfield and a graduate of Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical High School. After graduation, Todd enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served his country honorably for twenty-one years, before fully retiring as a decorated Petty Officer in 2002. Shortly after separating from the Coast Guard, and relocating to Feeding Hills, Todd began his employment as a correctional officer at Carl Robinson Correctional Facility in Enfield, CT, where he was employed for over thirteen years. Todd had many interests and hobbies, he enjoyed countless rides on his Harley Davidson Electra Glide, spending time playing his acoustic guitar, and the many hours drawing and occasional painting. He was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor. Todd was a blessing to his family. He was kind and considerate and very charitable. His family and friends will miss him dearly. Todd leaves behind his beloved son, Jeremiah Johnson, and daughter, Jessica Johnson of Feeding Hills; his mother, Arlene Mayer and stepfather, Doug Mayer of Feeding Hills; his father, Stewart Johnson and his stepmother, Robin Johnson of Palmer; siblings, Tisa Mason and her husband, William of North Dakota, Cindy Gurney and her husband, Andrew, of Westfield, Stewart Johnson and his husband, Martin Schneeberger, of Torrington, CT, Carolyn Hope and her husband, Paul, of Shoreline, Washington, Bonnie Spencer and her husband, Steven, of Brandon, VT, Matthew and Jared Johnson, both of Chicopee; and two nephews, Cormac Swensen-Hope and Luke Johnson. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 1, for calling hours for Todd from 3-7 p.m. at Hafey Funeral Home, 494 Belmont Ave., Springfield. Todd’s celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, August 2 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow immediately after the service at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations in Todd’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
