Andrew E. Coughlin

October 3, 1931 ~ February 18, 2019 (age 87)


Springfield – Andrew Edward Coughlin, 87, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow. He was born in Springfield to the late Joseph and Aurore (Lewis) Coughlin. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Andrew was employed for many years as an Iron Worker and Carpenter and also worked for Nightlights by Bebee. Andrew was involved in the 1984 Olympics and the Movie Industry, including the production of One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. 

He is survived by his siblings, William Coughlin and his wife Claire, Therese Coughlin Dowers, Daniel Coughlin, John Coughlin, Elizabeth Coughlin Barnes, Kathleen Coughlin Ryan, Raymond Coughlin and Constance Coughlin Stokosa as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph, Wilfred and Warren Coughlin, Aurora Coughlin Bebee and Mary Coughlin Allen.

A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 9AM in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Hafey Funeral Service in Springfield is entrusted with the arrangements.
