Ann Theresa (Connor) Cimini

Ann Theresa (Connor) Cimini, 85, beloved wife of Bernard P. Cimini who passed away in 2005, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, at the Julian J. Levitt Family Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Born on July 1, 1932 in Pittsfield, MA, she was raised and educated in Pittsfield and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1949. Ann later graduated from St. Luke’s Training School for Nurses in 1952 as a Registered Nurse. She began her career as a Registered Nurse by being on staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Pittsfield. Ann married Bernard on May 14, 1955, and soon after started a family together. They moved to Longmeadow in 1967 and Ann has resided there ever since. Ann continued her career as a Registered Nurse at various nursing facilities, including the former Mary Lyons Nursing Home in Hampden, and also practiced home health care. Ann was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a woman of deep faith and a longtime parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow, a member of its Ladies Guild, attended many Novena’s, and readings of the Rosary. Ann also enjoyed playing Bridge with her good friends. She leaves behind her loving children and their spouses, Stephen C. and Susan Cimini, of Granby, CT, Michael P. and Karen Cimini of Easthampton, John E. Cimini and Melissa Wood of South Hadley, and Carla J. Szczepanek and Eric LeDuc of East Longmeadow; sister Mary Hepworth of Syracuse, NY; twelve cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Rebecca, Curtis, Samuel, Jacob, Abigail, Ian, Katie, Laura, Daniel, Jack, and Ryan and two great grandchildren, Greyson and Shepard Kavey. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was predeceased by her beloved daughter AnnMarie Stone in 2006, along with her siblings; Josh, Richard, and Fred Connor, Joan Mohlman, and Claire Matthews. Calling hours for Ann will be held on Monday, January 8, from 5-7 p.m. at Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 9, at 11:30 a.m. Her committal prayers will follow immediately after the Mass at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
