Anthony “Tony” Francis Serafino, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Longmeadow at the age of 58. Tony was born on July 14, 1963, in Springfield, MA. He was a son of Richard A., Sr. and Maureen (Maloney) Serafino. Tony was raised and educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Classical High School and later received his culinary degree from Lincoln Culinary School in Suffield, CT. He enjoyed a long career as a chef and was currently employed as a chef at Basil Restaurant in Medfield, MA. Tony was a huge fan of all the Boston Sports teams, especially the Bruins. He is survived by his two sons, Matthew and Thomas Serafino of Lusby, MD, siblings, Gail A. Serafino of Stafford Springs, CT, Richard A. Serafino Jr. of Tyngsboro, MA, Paul M. Serafino of West Springfield, David S. Serafino of Ludlow and Andrew J. Serafino of East Longmeadow, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Susan M. Finn in 2015. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 17, for a period of visitation for Tony from 9- 11 a.m. at Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue, followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
