Barbara Ann Stevens

October 22, 1940 ~ December 13, 2018 (age 78)

Barbara Ann Stevens, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield on Wednesday, December 13, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Born in Springfield, MA, on Oct. 22, 1940, to Henry J. and Nellie T. (Netopsky) Stevens, she was a lifelong resident of Springfield. Barbara was a professional dancer for many years and a jewelry demonstrator. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield. Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Tammy White and Candice Ann Lyons; her two brother, Thomas Stevens and Mark Stevens and by two grandchildren, May Lyons and Thomas Clay White, III, all of Springfield. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Thomas Clay White, Jr. in 1990 and by her dog, Echo. Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to Beacon Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Calling hours for Barbara will be held on Tuesday December 18th from 4 – 7 PM at the Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue. Barbara’s funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday December 19th starting at 10 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson, St., Springfield. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
