Donald Francis Hathaway passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones at the too early age of 73. He was born on April 14, 1947 in Pittsfield, MA and is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Grace and Francis Hathaway, his sister Carol Emerson and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him, knew his strong work ethic, his loyalty, as well as the values and moral code he lived by, with his family and kids always first. He was married to his wife, JoAnn Hathaway (Cormier), for 53 memory filled years. He also leaves two daughters and their spouses; Ginger and Scott Coleman, and Nadean and Terry Eaddy. Don was blessed with 3 granddaughters that were a source of great pride and joy: Jade Roy(Irving), Tia Gregorio(Irving) and Andrea Coleman. He also leaves two great grandsons: Jordan Bailey and Ethan Remillard. Don loved his work and spent over 50 years at Packaging Corporation of America, where he was well respected by the workforce, peers and supervisors. His character, fair mindedness and his ability to effectively motivate people helped mentor many at the onset of their careers. Don knew how to treat people, and no one ever doubted how much they were loved by him. In lieu of flowers, donations to Clark School for The Deaf, 45 Round Hill Rd. Northampton, MA 01060 may be made to honor his memory. There will be no calling hours, or services. The family will have a private ceremony to honor his life.
