Elizabeth Maria (Pelletier) Fickett, 65, beloved wife of Richard A. Fickett, who predeceased her in 2009, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2019, with the comfort of her son, Matt, at her side at Harmony House in Chicopee. Elizabeth was born on April 20, 1954 in Ludlow, MA, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Lucchesi) Pelletier, she was raised and educated in Monson and was a graduate of Baystate School of Nursing. Elizabeth served her country honorably as a Specialist 4 with the 16th Medical Detachment in the U.S. Army, during the conclusion of the Vietnam War. After her time in service, she continued her education in nursing, obtaining her license as a Registered Nurse. She held a long and fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse at several health care facilities and nursing homes in the area, and most recently at the former Birch Manor Nursing Home in Chicopee. Elizabeth leaves behind her two sons, Richard A. Fickett and his wife, Mary, of Three Rivers, and Matthew A. Fickett and his fiancée, Sarah Bengle, of Ware; and three cherished grandchildren, Kaelyn, Ezekiel, and Richard; siblings, Laura Collins of Chicopee, Henry Pelletier of Atascadero, CA, Carol Pelletier and John Pelletier both of Chicopee, Gregory Pelletier of Pelham, NH, Joel Pelletier of Papillion, NE, and Maria Pelletier of Three Rivers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Brian Pelletier in 2013. Elizabeth’s committal service with military honors and burial will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA.
