Felix Ranero

February 25, 1935 ~ April 1, 2018 (age 83)

Felix Ranero, fifty year resident of Springfield, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at the age of 83. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, a son of Aurelio V. and Cecilia (Davila) Ranero. At the age of 17, Felix left Puerto Rico and came to the United States. He began a successful career as a professional Salsa Singer, singing on the radio in New York City. As the city changed so did Felix’s aspirations, he moved to upstate New York and began working for NASA; eventually he moved to Springfield in 1968 and purchased his first home on Dickinson Street in 1972. Felix later became a longtime employee of Face Mate in Chicopee, and later retired from Arrow Security as a security guard. Felix is survived by his children, Cecilia, Israel, and Lily Ranero, Francine and Roberto Raniero; numerous grandchildren, including  Roberto C., Erick D., and Javier Raniero, Danielle M. and Krystian Gilham. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Luis and Victor Ranero and by his sister, Irma Ranero. There are no calling hours. A memorial service for Felix will be held at a later date. His burial will be private. Hafey Funeral Service has been entrusted with his arrangements.
