Jennie Agnes Connor

October 11, 1921 ~ January 20, 2019 (age 97)

Jennie Agnes Connor, 97, of Lecanto, FL passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice.  Jennie was born on October 11, 1921 in Chicopee, MA to Michal and Agata (Hajec) Bozyk.  She lived in Springfield, MA most of her life, working for Forbes & Wallace in downtown Springfield as an Assistant Buyer in Women’s Sportswear, and then Milton Bradley/Hasbro in East Longmeadow, MA. After retiring, she lived at Quarry Hill in East Longmeadow, and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church. She was a member of the Golden Agers in Springfield, MA. She then moved to Citrus County, FL eight years ago. She was preceded in death in 1975 by her husband of 32 years, William J. Connor; and by her siblings, Stella (Bozek) Kumor, Julia “Jay” (Bozek) Santaniello, Angelina “Angie” (Bozek) Wigglesworth, and Stanley, Anna, Katherine, John, and William Bozek. She is survived by one son, William J. Connor, Jr., and two grandchildren, Monica and David Connor; and sister-in-law, Camilla “Cammie” Bozek. She is greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Maxine Connor. Jennie was an avid knitter and loved to play Bingo. Visitation and celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hafey Funeral Service, 494 Belmont Avenue, Springfield, MA.  Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 2, at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations to the following would be most appreciated: Academy Fund, Fork Union Military Academy, PO Box 278, Fork Union, VA 23055.
