Tribute

John Edward O’Rourke, Jr. of Longmeadow passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 88 at Holyoke Medical Center.

He joyfully joins his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Anne (Stearns) O’Rourke, who predeceased him on May 16, 2000, in the afterlife.  John was born in Holyoke to loving parents John E. Sr., and Mary (Burke) O’Rourke. He was raised in Holyoke and was a graduate of Holyoke High School.

John served his country honorably as a Military Police Officer, in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He later graduated from Boston College and was a life-long enthusiastic alum.

He had many interests and passions, including cars, particularly Mustangs, drawing, singing, and following the Patriots, Red Sox, Boston College sports teams, and UConn Women Huskies Basketball team.  He also enjoyed witty wordplay, and will forever be remembered as a very punny guy
