John "Jack" Robert Hammerle

October 14, 1940 ~ January 9, 2021 (age 80)


John R. “Jack” Hammerle, beloved husband of 56 years of Patricia Ann (Conlon) Hammerle, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 80. Jack was born on October 14, 1940 in Erie, PA, a beloved son of Franklyn W. and Margaret (Conacher) Hammerle, he was raised and educated in Erie, PA.  Jack attended and graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and later from Western New England College Law School. Jack was employed as an Attorney for Marine Offices of America in Boston for several years before going into private practice in Springfield. He was a longtime resident of Springfield and parishioner of Holy Name Church in Springfield. Jack enjoyed history and was an avid reader, especially books on politics. He had a fond interest in cooking and enjoyed jazz music. He was a sports enthusiast from the Red Sox to the Patriots and watching professional tennis. Jack leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia of Springfield, and his children, Christopher and his wife Tracy (Granger) Hammerle of Springfield, Colleen Henry and her husband Matthew of Agawam and Brenden Hammerle and Christal Russo of Wilbraham, Devin Hammerle of Springfield and Greg Hammerle and his wife Nicole of Agawam, and eight cherished grandchildren. A private Mass and burial will be held for Jack. There are no calling hours.
