Joseph "Joe" A. Racicot

June 15, 1943 ~ May 15, 2018 (age 74)

Joseph “Joe” Anthony Racicot, 74, beloved husband of Marilyn “Pat”(Boydston) Racicot, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the comfort of his own home in West Springfield with his beloved family at his side. Joe was born on June 15, 1943 in Chicopee, MA, a beloved son of Joseph and Theresa (DeMaio) Racicot; he was a lifelong resident of West Springfield. He served his country honorably as a CS3 in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Joe had a long and fulfilling career as a self-employed painter. He also worked as a courier for several car dealerships in West Springfield. Joe had many interests and passions. He was a phenomenal cook, who formerly owned and operated Mingles Lounge in West Springfield. Joe enjoyed drifting back in time by watching old black and white movies. He cherished all the family gatherings and the yearly trips to the beaches in Yarmouth. This is where he enjoyed lots of sunshine, good food and drink and years of relaxing memories with family and friends. Joe was an integral part of his family, his wit, humor and love will be deeply missed.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marilyn “Pat” of West Springfield; loving children, Joseph R. Racicot and his wife, Lena, and their children, Rosanna, Guilianna, and Ricardo Racicot of Southwick; Anthony Racicot and his wife Crystal Bryant, and their children, Hunter, Gunnar, and Wyatt Racicot of West Springfield; Dennis and Amy Brunelle and their children, Tess and Kacey Brunelle; Laurie and Dale Richardson and their children, Aubrey and Karen Richardson and Andrew Peters; Jim and Yovanna Brunelle, and their children, Nathan Cid, Tyler and Ian Brunelle; Jeff and Carmen Brunelle and their children, Natasha and Joseph Brunelle; six adored great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Racicot of Florida, William and Kenneth Racicot both of West Springfield; and sister, Joann DiSisto.

Upon Joe’s request, his funeral service and burial with military honors will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
