Maureen Theresa (Maloney) Julian, 76, beloved wife of 50 years, of William F. Julian, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with her family at her side. Maureen was born on August 20, 1944, in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Francis and Eleanor (Murphy) Maloney. She was raised in Springfield and later in West Springfield and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Springfield. Maureen later attended and graduated from the Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse that spanned, over 25 years. Her first employment as a Registered Nurse was at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, before transferring over to Shriners Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1983 and fully retiring in 2004. Maureen was a resident of Longmeadow for over 43 years. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow and a member of its Ladies Guild. Maureen was a loving and caring wife, mother, and doting grandmother. She had many interests, but her family brought her the most joy. Maureen leaves behind her loving husband, Bill of Longmeadow and daughters, Eleanor “Ellie” Julian of Haverhill, MA, and Catherine (Julian) Bunk and her husband, Christopher, of Rowayton, CT, her adored grandchildren, William, Alice, and Mary Bunk. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Maloney. A period of visitation will be held for Maureen on Tuesday, March 30, from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Avenue, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA. Committal prayers and burial will follow immediately after the Mass at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
