Peter Owen Bewsee, 59, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Baystate Medical Center. Peter was born on March 28, 1961, in Springfield, MA, son of Emery “Buzz” and Ann Marie (Davison) Bewsee. He was raised and educated in East Longmeadow, later in Monroe, MA, before residing in West Springfield, for the past 20 years. Peter was a longtime security guard working for the Pinkerton Security Company at several businesses throughout the Springfield area. He was an avid collector of various patches that ranged from police and fire departments and other first responders throughout the country. Peter was an active member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Parish Council, and a volunteer at the Open Pantry all in West Springfield. He had a strong affection towards animals, mostly his dogs and cats. Peter was a warmhearted prankster who loved to hear and tell a good joke. He leaves behind his sisters, Margaret “Maggie” Bewsee, who he lived with in West Springfield, and Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Bewsee and her husband, Ron of Springfield; several nieces and nephews, and good friends, Mark and Melanie Mitchell and their 9 children and 2 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Michaelann Bewsee. A memorial service will be held for Peter on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 337 Piper Road, West Springfield, MA 01089. There are no calling hours. Peter will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden. In lieu of flowers donations in Peter’s name may be made to Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
