Scott Pospolita, 42, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Scott was born on June 13, 1977 in Springfield, MA, a son of Richard and Linda (Hutchinson) Poirier. He was a graduate of Central High School in Springfield and later attended classes at Springfield College. Scott served as a campus police officer for over twenty years, the last decade at Springfield Technical Community College where he held the rank of Sergeant. An avid Red Sox fan, Scott proposed to the love of his life, Kristen, on the big screen at Fenway Park and they married on December 6, 2010. For their first anniversary, Scott had a brick placed at Fenway Park with their names so they will be at Fenway forever together. Far above his love of baseball, Scott’s greatest joy was being daddy to their daughter, Aubrey. He was always up for silly games, teaching her so many things, reading to her, and playing for hours outside daily when weather allowed. Scott always found the beach relaxing and looked forward to their annual family vacations to Short Sands, York, Maine where he vacationed for over 30 years. Scott had a smile that would light up the room, and a sense of humor that never failed to keep his family and friends laughing. He was adventurous and loved to travel to new places. He enjoyed TreeHouse IPA, Guinness, and never turned down an offer of an espresso. He was silly and goofy but always steady, caring and selfless. He stood up for what was right and always was there to help and give to those in need. Scott served his family, friends and community with kindness and generosity. He will be remembered daily with love by his wife, Kristen (McNabb) Pospolita and their daughter, Aubrey, of Feeding Hills; mom, Linda; brother, Eric Pospolita; sister, Michele Pospolita; father-in-law, Keith McNabb and his wife Ann, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and the friends he counted as family. A Celebration of Life Service for Scott will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Scott’s memory to MHA, 995 Worthington St., Springfield, MA 01109 or to a charity of choice. Hafey Funeral Service in Springfield is entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.hafeyfuneralservice.com to leave a condolence for Scott’s family.
