Theodore Joseph Gittles, 91, beloved husband of Josephine (Morrison) Gittles, who predeceased him in 1995, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, at his residence in Springfield. Born on October 14, 1928, in Indian Orchard, MA, a loving son of Anthony and Rose (Paremba) Gittles, he was a lifelong resident of Springfield. Teddy was employed as a Bell Hop and Night Watchman, for 32 years, at the former Charles Hotel in Springfield, before retiring in 1988. He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Name Church in Springfield and a member of the Forest Park Golden Agers. Teddy was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his niece, Linda Salsbury of Dover, TN, and by his niece in law, Carol Gittles of Springfield. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Anthony Gittles, Mary McKeon, and Frances Kudla; his nephew, Tony Gittles. Family and friends are invited to meet on Friday, December 13, at 10 a.m. for Theodore’s Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson St. Springfield, MA 01108.
