Alford, MA - Wendy Martha (Lundgren) Nicolosi passed peacefully in the arms of her loving family on September 25, 2018. Wendy was born to Harold & Helen (Peterson) Lundgren on April 25, 1946. She grew up in Shrewsbury, MA with her brother Jeffery and sister Barbara (Lundgren) Baker. A graduate of Wells College in 1968, she married Wallace Edgecombe and moved to New York City where she gave birth to her first daughter, Brooke. In NY, Wendy worked for the Board of Global Ministries of the UMC. After an amicable divorce, Wendy met Joseph Nicolosi whom she married on May 14, 1983. The family then moved to Rockland County, NY where Joey and Emily were born and raised. Wendy completed her Masters degree in Math and started her second career teaching at a local high school. Wendy and Joe retired to their cozy country home in Alford, MA along with all the wonderful family memories. Wendy, Joe & Family enjoyed skiing, sailing, entertaining friends and being engaged with the community. Always a socialite, Wendy loved spending time with her friends in the Quilters Guild, Garden Club, Ski group, and with fellow sailors. Wendy surrounded herself with flowers, and covered her loved ones with fruits of her knitting and sewing. She was actively involved in outreach with the Stockbridge First Congregational Church, Food Pantry as well as global organizations that promote social justice and human rights. Wendy would say their time in the Berkshires has been a dream come true for her retirement. She was blessed with a beautiful environment and great friends & family. In lieu of flowers Wendy would have surely suggested a contribution of time or resources towards any of the organizations she supported: A local food pantry, Doctors Without Borders, the ACLU, or any organization that makes a positive difference in lives of those less fortunate. All services were held for the family. Hafey Funeral Service is assisting the family.
